To further the bonds of friendship among Member Associations as well as other representative organisations in golf throughout the world through friendly competition in golf. To assist Member Associations in the development of golf within their respective countries. To ensure that Member Associations adhere to the Rules of Golf and Rules of Amateur Status as approved by The R&A. To hold biennially an Amateur Team Championship (the Championship) and a congress of its Member Associations (the Biennial Congress) To work in co-operation with the International Golf Federation in the promotion of golf pursuant to the objects of that association. To conduct the Asian Amateur Championship in conjunction with the R&A and the Augusta National Golf Club.
